IPS Monitor is an independent editorial site about displays: the technology behind them, the workflows they serve and the buying decisions that benefit from a little more context than a specification table can provide.
What we cover
The site focuses on practical display topics, including IPS and other panel technologies, colour management, calibration, gaming-monitor behaviour, HDR and the details that matter when comparing a specific model. We publish explanatory guides and selected display news; hands-on reviews are kept as their own editorial format.
Our aim is straightforward: explain what a specification means, distinguish a useful feature from marketing shorthand, and link to primary sources where a product or technology claim needs checking.
How we approach content
IPS Monitor began as a WordPress publication in 2010. Its archive includes useful topics as well as time-bound product news and advice that no longer meets the standard we want to set. During the move to this faster, static site, each legacy URL is deliberately kept, rewritten, retained as an archive or given a direct redirect to the closest relevant page.
When a historical guide is revised, its original publication date remains visible and the update date explains that the text has been brought forward. We do not silently treat an old product list as a current recommendation.
Editorial independence
Guides should be useful whether or not a reader buys anything. Product specifications, release dates and technical claims are checked against the manufacturer or another primary source when practical, and recommendations will clearly identify their criteria and date. A manufacturer’s claim is not presented as an independent test result.
Affiliate relationships, advertising, sponsorships and product loans are not part of the current first release. If any are introduced, the relevant disclosures and editorial policy will be published before they affect content.
Reviews
The site has two preserved, early hands-on reviews. They remain available on their original URLs as historical archive material, but are intentionally not featured in navigation or hub modules while the current review methodology is established. New reviews will need a repeatable test process, a published date and clear separation between measured observations, manufacturer specifications and editorial judgement.
Privacy and contact
This pre-launch version has no account system, comments, newsletter signup or contact form, and it does not ask visitors to submit personal information. The production privacy notice will be finalised before launch to reflect the actual hosting, analytics, cookie and contact arrangements in use at that time.
Editorial contact details and a corrections process will be added before the public launch. Until then, please do not send personal or sensitive information through this site.
